This photo was taken when visiting the small town of St. Emilion on a tour a several vineyards in the Bordeaux region (btw, I would highly recommend BordoVino Tours). This is a stitched pano made from 5 separate photos taken at 27mm equivalent focal length. In hindsight, I wish I had made it a double row pano at a larger focal length. But, it still turned out pretty well considering I didn’t have a tripod.

Photo Friday – Master’s Degree
You may have noticed it’s been a while since I updated the blog. For the past couple of month’s I’ve been kicking myself into gear and have finally finished my master’s degree at the University of Oklahoma. And they even gave me a shirt to prove it. Hopefully I can now get back to regular updates!
Photo Friday – Giant’s Causeway Cliff
This was taken last May on the same trip that I proposed to my girlfriend. Everybody else was taking photos of the ocean so I turned around and saw this lovely image. I’d like to think it captures the feeling of being there better than one of just the cool rocks and the ocean. Despite being a little tipsy having just come from a 9 shot whisky tasting, I think the photo actually turned out pretty well.
Photo Friday – Kensington Garden
This is one of the first photos I’ve retouched from our trip to the UK about a week ago. This is the sunken garden at Kensington Palace, which is where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge live. My girlfriend is a huge fan of British royalty and was a European History major in college so I took her to London to propose. I shot this photo the day before as I was scouting out the right location to do it. I ended up proposing (just after afternoon tea) on the other side of the fountain, closer to the palace. And yes, she did say yes!
Photo Friday – Princes Pier Posts
This is the part of the remains of the famed Princes Pier in Melbourne, Australia. The pier operated from 1915 to 1969. In 2006, the first 140 meters of pier were fully restored and the rest of the pier was removed. However, they left the oh-so-photogenic pylons and I had tons of fun shooting them.
Photo Friday – Cancun Lighthouse
This is a cool old lighthouse at the northeast end of the giant row of hotels that is Cancun. It is only accessible by staying at the Dreams Riviera Resort – or by sneaking in ;). Here are the lat/long coordinates if you want to put it into google maps: 21.137485, -86.741162
Photo Friday – Institut de France
Here’s an old favorite of mine from when I was just starting with photography. This is a photo of the Institut de France (home of the Académie Française), which sits across the Seine from the Louvre. Continue reading “Photo Friday – Institut de France”
